Hybrid Cloud and Data Fabric
HPE expands GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise
GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise is an automated, flexible, scalable private cloud designed for both cloud-native and traditional applications. It supports self-service provisioning of physical servers, virtual machines and containers from a common infrastructure pool.
The HPE offering supports Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service Anywhere, another option for deploying containers. Customers can use it to run the same container runtimes in their own data center as in the public cloud. They can also port applications between the private and public clouds.
Virtual machines, containers, and physical servers can be managed and controlled self-service via a console, application programming interface (API), command line interface, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Developers get instant access to their workspace, choosing from a variety of operating systems, containerized applications and toolchain integration services. To improve the performance of mission-critical applications, GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise now offers six optimized instances for general purpose, compute, memory and storage with a consumption-based billing model.
Public Cloud
Advanced consumption analytics improves usage and cost analysis of applications across the three hyperscalers in the public cloud environment. This includes showback reporting and a dashboard that helps customers improve capacity planning and budgeting in their hybrid environment.
GreenLake is available now in 52 countries worldwide and can be sold by partners through the GreenLake for Partners program. HPE is continuously expanding its partner ecosystem on the GreenLake Marketplace in areas such as DevOps, AI/ML, analytics, data protection and security. Most recently, the following offerings were added. GreenLake for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform was announced back in June of last year. The combination of GreenLake with Red-Hat OpenShift creates an end-to-end foundation for application development in the hybrid cloud. The solution allows self-service management of containers and offers standard container configurations. HPE GreenLake for Red-Hat OpenShift Container Platform will be available in the first quarter of 2023.
Private Cloud
GreenLake for VMware, announced in November 2022, is an integrated solution with consumption-based billing. VMware Cloud will be fully integrated into the GreenLake portfolio, including GreenLake for Private Cloud Enterprise. HPE also unveiled an early access program for GreenLake for Data Fabric and Ezmeral-Unified Analytics at the Discover event in Frankfurt last year. GreenLake for Data Fabric provides unified access to distributed data assets, such as those in the company's own data center, in the cloud and at the edge. Ezmeral Unified Analytics is a cloud solution with open source tools for the entire data lifecycle. Currently, GreenLake supports more than 65,000 customers and manages more than two million networked devices and more than an exabyte of data at customers worldwide. Enterprises benefit from a unified platform to automate, orchestrate and operate their hybrid cloud environment.
