Understanding DevOps & Security in SAP BTP

Lecture

In today's digital landscape, where cyber threats and data protection risks are constantly increasing, the protection of business-critical SAP systems is essential. The SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is establishing itself as a central component of these environments. A key factor here is the SAP Clean Core approach, which SAP regards as a proven strategy for future-proof and easy-to-maintain custom code development in the cloud.

This presentation shows how a Shift Left-It will show how a holistic code scanning strategy across different technologies and the integration of DevSecOps practices can help identify vulnerabilities early, reduce security risks and enable efficient development. It also provides insights into the latest security features and best practices for implementation and maintenance in the SAP BTP environment.

Stefan Eckstein,
SAP Security Pre-Sales Engineer,
Onapsis

17.45 till 18.30

BTP SaaS applications as a central hub for hybrid cloud architectures of the future

Lecture

The mapping of even complex applications with integration to various on-premise and cloud applications in the clean-core approach could now be the market standard for add-on developments in the SAP environment and is a valuable decoupling level for the preparation and implementation of S/4 migrations. operayo gives examples of realized products on the BTP with different architectures and integration scenarios and explains causes and solutions for the currently still limited use of the platform.

In this demo session you will learn:

  • How Boomi's unique, SAP-certified native connector reduces manual integration time and effort between SAP and non-SAP applications.
  • How Boomi's AI agents can help you radically increase your productivity by drawing on 300 million integration patterns to perform tasks autonomously and safely.

How to phish your way to SAP_ALL in BTP - A mind game

Lecture

Do you think all access to SAP cloud services and their controls are handled by a central identity provider? You think all accesses and the assignment of accesses are logged centrally at your company? In reality, many roads can lead to Rome for an attacker - in fact, new ones are constantly being added.

Let's take a look together at the role of the S-User, Universal Identity and Broken Glass user concepts and why phishing-resistant login procedures are often desired, but not always given and even less always centrally enforced.

From clean core strategy to action - a SAP Partner view

ifm has been successful on the market with classic ABAP add-ons since 2005. What does the SAP software partner think about Clean Core and what challenges does ifm see in implementing this strategy? Is BTP the measure of all things or do you prefer "on-stack"?

SAP Security Pre-Sales Engineer,

BTP SaaS applications as a central hub for hybrid cloud architectures of the future

Lecture

The mapping of even complex applications with integration to various on-premise and cloud applications in the clean-core approach could now be the market standard for add-on developments in the SAP environment and is a valuable decoupling level for the preparation and implementation of S/4 migrations. operayo gives examples of realized products on the BTP with different architectures and integration scenarios and explains causes and solutions for the currently still limited use of the platform.

The future of S/4 Hana is still uncertain. SAP guarantees software maintenance until 2040, but until then and beyond? There are already numerous business and organizational challenges that cannot be solved with the standard processes of S/4 Private and Public Cloud.

Many existing SAP customers are about to transfer their Abap modifications to a future S/4 Hana system. What happens to the innovations in the Z namespace? Neither the SAP Private Cloud nor the Public Cloud provide satisfactory answers to this question. There are still media discontinuities in many SAP business processes and there is a lack of verified end-to-end scenarios. Third-party systems will continue to supply external data to S/4 in the future. S/4 Hana will become an integrated part of a composable ERP over the next few years. Only with Business Technology Platform, SAP BTP, can the rescue of successful Abap modifications, the development of new E2E processes and the orchestration of a Composable ERP succeed.

The Steampunk and BTP Summit 2026 provides the answers regarding an ERP architecture, CAP, RAP and BTP including and beyond S/4 Hana, because the ERP world and SAP community will not cease to exist after 2040.

For further suggestions and ideas for the Steampunk and BTP Summit 2026 I am at your disposal at any time. Please call me on +49/8654/77130-21 or write to me pmf@b4bmedia.net.

Thank you for your interest and I look forward to seeing you again in Heidelberg,

On the way to Hana and S/4 and beyond, questions arise regarding existing Abap modifications and the development of new Fior apps and E2E processes with CAP and RAP. Many of these questions will be answered at April 22 and 23, 2026 in Heidelberg.
