Handelsblatt: SAP can do cloud

Admittedly, growth of around 50 percent for a software manufacturer from the old economy is very noteworthy. Even if the absolute sales of S/4 Hana Cloud are still negligible at around 280 million euros - the growth gives hope, doesn't it? Naturally not!
Anyone familiar with the SAP community knows that a large proportion of these S/4 cloud revenues do not come about "voluntarily". SAP's existing customers on the path to digital transformation often have to use SAP's cloud because the new functions are not available as an on-prem version. Those who want to watch the latest Marvel movies have to subscribe to the Disney+ streaming offering. If SAP prevails over its existing customers, cloud revenue will continue to rise sharply.
A discourse on SAP's hospital and insurance solution (IS Healthcare) is currently raging in the German-speaking world. This industry solution is widely recognized. In the future, SAP wants to offer the software only from the cloud. Many insurance companies, health insurers and hospitals are against this for many reasons - on-prem is preferred. But if SAP gets its way, a lot of SAP software revenue will move to the cloud - even against the will of SAP's existing customers!
Financial analysts and the business press will then exclusively admire SAP CFO Luka Mucic's figures and believe that SAP is successful in the cloud.
