E-3 Rubrik: ABAP-Kolumne

Abap column

Abap (Advanced Business Application Programming) forms the basis of all SAP systems as a programming language. It combines the advantages of an object-oriented language with those of an integrated 4GL language. Abap is used to program the SAP Application Server.

The new SAP generation is here. Simplicity and Hana seem to be turning the IT market upside down, even though the new dimension has just started with S/4 Hana Finance. This is how G.I.B developers are preparing for S/4 Hana Logistics.
Everything is better with Hana. But what happens to the previous applications? What about the add-ons? The Z programs? Will everything have to be reprogrammed? "No," says Florian Lenz, Head of Departement Forecast at G.I.B.
With the Fiori design concept, SAP is trying to bridge the gap between private Internet use, for example online shopping, and business IT.
Object-oriented programming is modern and there is no alternative for the growing demand for mobility. Now the experienced Abap trainer Alexander Maetzing has spoken on the subject of Abap Objects, about future viability, advantages and how to learn the new language easily and effectively.
Work on SAP Basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion. This gives the so-called Competence Center strategic importance among SAP's existing customers. Regardless of the operating model of an S/4 Hana, topics such as automation, monitoring, security, application lifecycle management, and data management are the basis for the operative S/4 operation. For the second time already, E3 Magazine is hosting a summit in Salzburg for the SAP community to get comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork. With an exhibition, expert presentations, and plenty to talk about, we again expect numerous existing customers, partners, and experts in Salzburg. E3 Magazine invites you to Salzburg for learning and exchange of ideas on June 5 and 6, 2024.
