Thus, there must also be a NetWeaver stack with the same availability and maintenance. The bad news: Those who still have a dual stack, Abap and Java, should dissolve it as soon as possible, and those who want to run Business Suite 7 until 2030 including an Application Server (AS) Java must update to NetWeaver version 7.5.

Users of the Abap stack, on the other hand, will make it to 2030 with NetWeaver versions 7.03, 7.31, 7.40 and 7.50. Because most Abap and Java stacks have their end-of-life as early as this year (2020) and are coming off maintenance, a flurry of NetWeaver releases is expected from SAP legacy customers as of now.

It is therefore important to ensure that sufficient resources are available in good time. Naturally, the same rule applies to the NetWeaver stack as to Business Suite 7: standard maintenance until 2027, extended maintenance in the three years 2028, 2029 and 2030 with plus two percentage points maintenance fee.
