With Open Source and AI to the Customer Experience
With the new commerce solution Upscale Commerce, SAP wants to create a targeted offering for medium-sized companies. Smaller online stores can be provided with a limited budget for software and implementation. The solution is initially available to pilot customers in the US market.
"Many SMEs want to provide smaller brands, promo and pop-up stores within a few days to test new products and markets"
said Alex Atzberger, President, SAP Customer Experience, at this year's SAP Customer Experience Live conference in Barcelona.
With the help of artificial intelligence, the system is constantly learning and shows which functions work best and which channels can be used more profitably.
The new commerce solution complements the SAP Commerce Cloud, which is already in use worldwide. SAP also offers a cloud-based environment for application development with the Cloud Platform Extension Factory.
The basis is Kyma, an SAP open source initiative. With agile open source tools, users can adapt or extend API-enabled applications to meet their business requirements. Availability is planned for 2019.
"If you want to score points with customers, you have to bring your products to market as quickly as possible. With our cloud solutions, customers can make new products available within an hour"
explains Atzberger.
"SAP Cloud Extension Factory benefits the companies that are most affected by the digital transformation. They receive the right tools for the rapid provision of innovative services and disruptive products. "
