Against Your Better Judgment, Right?

For me, the antidote to defragmentation and isolation through tariffs, wars, and trade barriers was Viva Technology 2025, an AI festival held in Paris at the beginning of June. The Digital Minister from Canada, the French President, and representatives from many countries in the Global South were all present. Compared to German-speaking IT and AI events, what was also remarkable was the parity between men and women, as well as the age range of the 180,000 visitors over four days: 18 to 65.

We believe in the global SAP community. Against our better judgment? No, because defragmentation and the atomization of society are not positive responses to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues, nor to the restoration of international cooperation, communication, and trade flows. Business administration, organizational theory, and AI technology depend on international science and its exchange.

We have begun to make German-language SAP knowledge and news from the SAP community more accessible internationally. The E3 Magazine website is available in German, English, and Spanish. Starting September 1, we will add French, partly as a result of our experience at Viva Technology 2025 in Paris. The numerous French-speaking delegates and the commitment from Canada motivated us to activate a French E3 website.

As with the English and Spanish sections of the E3 website, which are proofread by Laura Cepeda, we are using the German company DeepL’s AI technology for the new French website. Dr. Ulrike Godler, who completed part of her studies at the Sorbonne in Paris, proofreads the French texts. The E3 editorial team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the content in all languages. This change means E3 Magazine is further globalizing its work. We are doing this against our better judgment, given the current world situation.
