Doubling

A similar process is taking place through digital change with the aim of creating digital twins. The opportunity and challenge of digitalization therefore lie in the creation of patterns from our real world.
These patterns can be used to review, optimize and further develop real processes. Recognizing and processing patterns is the potential of Digital Twins.
Nothing new for the technician! The simulation of dynamic systems has been used at least since the availability of powerful oscilloscopes - back then, of course, with analog circuits.
Today, oscilloscopes no longer have round tube screens, but are also digital and show the curves and steps on LC displays. A digital twin is the duplication of a real state and the subsequent simulation of this dynamic process.
Our complex society and economy based on the division of labor require - demand - the use of digital twins. The next step towards ERP optimization after S/4 will make use of numerous auxiliary tools, such as machine/deep learning, but the goal will be a digital twin of the supply chain, CRM and e-commerce.
The actual and target ERP status will only become comprehensible through duplication. The digital twin of an SAP ERP system will reveal unknown patterns and optimizations.
