Unjustified expectations of sales growth?
Gartner survey
Despite economic uncertainty, 72 percent of high-tech companies plan to increase their revenue in 2023, according to a survey by Gartner. In addition, nearly half believe they can outperform their competition this year. The survey was conducted in the second half of 2022 among 195 respondents in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France and Germany.
The aim was to find out the extent to which economic turbulence poses challenges for CEOs and what measures they plan to take to counter the uncertainty. The survey found that many technology leaders are prepared for a potential recession in 2023. Paradoxically, many of the measures taken focused on reducing costs rather than increasing revenue and market relevance.
