A change of era at SAP as well: Luka Mucic, a veteran, is leaving the ERP world market leader and, similar to ex-CEO Jim Hagemann Snabe and his CFO predecessor Werner Brand, he will not be returning to SAP. Gerd Oswald remains an exception.

How many existing SAP customers really opt for the cloud of their own free will when access to on-prem solutions becomes almost impossible?

On October 13, 2021, SAP published its preliminary figures for the third quarter. The Handelsblatt derived a success for SAP from the S/4 Hana cloud figures and postulated: SAP can do cloud!
