Structural and process organization

In recent months, many companies have had to recognize that their organizational structure and the associated processes work well under constant framework conditions, but sometimes fail in a disruptive world.
As Juergen Mueller, chief technology officer at SAP, concluded in a Q&A session at this week's Sapphire: "Transformation and digital improvements are more necessary than ever. This is the case in all industries. Agility and speed are key. SAP's integration speed helps companies create an enterprise-wide platform."
Naturally, it was also a promotional message for SAP's Business Technology Platform because, according to Müller, it can help close the gap between applications and consolidate data. If companies want to change their business model, they need to. "And with S/4 Hana we offer a very good basis for this", emphasized SAP's Chief Technology Officer in an interview with journalists.
The path for existing SAP customers thus seems to be mapped out: conversion and transformation to an IT stack based on Hana and the Business Technology Platform. For many existing SAP customers and partners, the journey is currently the destination. The search for the optimal roadmap moves everyone in the SAP community. The goal itself does not have to be cloud computing.
On-prem will also retain its justification. For the consolidation and adaptation of one's own organizational structure and processes, experience and partnership appear to be much more decisive than a technical operating model. In the E-3 Extra June 2021, the SAP community will find the selected partners for this path. This is where educational work takes place, because Run, Move, Conversion and Rise require more than a few new SAP licenses and a platform.
