Robots against risks
Robots are in demand to help companies counter current risks: around 80% of industrial decision-makers believe it is important to manufacture components that are missing due to supply bottlenecks at their home location. Just as many experts are in favor of robotics and automation in order to counter the increasing shortage of skilled workers. These are the findings of the Automatica Trend Index 2022, which was commissioned by the world's leading trade fair Automatica in Germany and surveyed 100 specialists and managers from industrial companies who make decisions about the use of robotics and automation.
As the survey shows, companies want to relieve their workforce of dangerous, monotonous and dirty tasks by using robots. A good one in two industrial decision-makers even rate this possibility as a very important motive for deciding to use robotics. The vast majority are also in favor of automating with the "robot colleague" in order to compensate for declining employee numbers as a result of demographic change (80%) and at the same time to counteract the relocation of jobs abroad (78%).
