Whistling in S/4 forest

The results are overwhelmingly good for SAP, leaving the ordinary SAP community member wondering, why has there been an ERP/ECC 6.0 maintenance extension 2027/2030 for SAP Business Suite?
Is someone whistling in the forest? According to the DSAG/ASUG survey, the majority of DSAG members (70 percent) and ASUG members (55 percent) already customize S/4. These sensational figures are only surpassed by another ASUG survey from the beginning of this year, in which 100 percent of members professed their support for S/4. Things couldn't be going better for SAP at the moment.
However, both user associations put the situation into perspective in a press release, writing: "The most widely used solution among the members of both SAP user groups is still SAP ECC with 84 percent at DSAG and 78 percent at ASUG." And DSAG and ASUG are almost "defiantly" whistling, but S/4 Hana is on the rise everywhere! The DSAG figures are even more exciting: Here, the majority of DSAG members (70 percent) are already implementing S/4 Hana or plan to do so in the future, while "only" 69 percent of DSAG members give S/4 a firm place in their planning. Are they implementing without planning - or is it just a statistical rounding error? At the end of the joint statement comes the resolution as to why SAP is offering the maintenance extension: "12 percent (DSAG) and 16 percent (ASUG) are already live with S/4 Hana." With this enthusiasm from existing customers, SAP will once again have to extend the maintenance window.
