More appearance than reality

SAP does not make it easy for existing customers and partners! Good ideas, smart prototypes, and snappy marketing concepts are important - but they are far from being finished products for everyday ERP use.

The SAP community rejoices in SAP's renewed innovation, but too often, under the leadership of SAP CEO Bill McDermott, compelling ideas are mistaken for finished products:

Yes, blockchain is probably an important and relevant technology, but away from Bitcoin and co. the development and research work has just begun.

Every two weeks, you can read about the disasters, pitfalls and scams surrounding blockchain in the leading IT trade magazine ct. Computer scientists will find watertight answers to each of these problems, but it's not time yet.

SAP, on the other hand, looks through rose-colored glasses and claims to have solved the challenges of blockchain in principle with the Leonardo framework. This is more appearance than reality and dangerous for all existing SAP customers.

For the coming year, the SAP community deserves more sense of reality and factual analysis from and by SAP. Cloud cuckoo homes have lost nothing in the ERP scene.
