Whether personal data in the HR module or information for production planning: SAP systems generally involve business-critical and sensitive data - which is increasingly being targeted by industrial spies and therefore requires special protection.
Companies must therefore adapt their security mechanisms to the new circumstances. SAP has released version 2.0 of the virus scan interface in NetWeaver (NW-VSI), primarily to extend the protection of SAP systems from regular anti-virus protection to comprehensive server protection and thus meet these requirements.
Trend Micro has responded to these requirements with version 9 of its security platform "Deep Security", which already received the "SAP Certified - Integration with SAP NetWeaver" certification from SAP in 2013 for version 2.0 of the virus scan interface in SAP NetWeaver.
In practice, it has been shown that this certification - together with the precise malware protection - repeatedly persuades companies to switch to Trend Micro.
The "Deep Security" security platform protects operating systems, applications and data on physical, virtual and cloud-based servers. The security of SAP applications will be one of the topics in the future version. Support for VMware vSphere 6, NSX and integration with IBM QRadar will also be included.
