

During the HHL Forum, Prof. Henning Kagermann was awarded an honorary doctorate from HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. He has already received numerous awards for his services in the field of digital technology innovations, including the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class.
The current honorary doctorate from HHL recognizes in particular Prof. Kagermann's contribution to the networking of science and business and his significant commitment to innovative structural optimization in the spirit of sustainable and forward-looking use of key digital technology developments.
The laudatory speech was given by IT entrepreneur and former director of the Institute for Business Informatics at Saarland University, Prof. August-Wilhelm Scheer, owner and CEO of the Scheer Group in Saarbrücken.
HHL Rector Prof. Stephan Stubner presented the certificate of honorary doctorate.

Kagermann was appointed to the SAP Executive Board in 1991; from 2003 until his departure in 2009, he was sole CEO. In addition, as a high-profile corporate strategist, Kagermann is a member of the supervisory boards of Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Post and Munich Re, one of the leading reinsurance companies, among others.
