E3 Roundtable: SAP licenses - FUE, indirect use, BDC etc.

SAP’s cloud strategy is fundamentally changing licensing and cost structures. With “Rise with SAP,” existing customers are transitioning from perpetual licenses to subscription-based models and relinquish their existing usage rights when switching contracts. Added to this are complex FUE, BTP, and BDC models involving usage, authorization, and additional costs. Business AI and Joule are also closely tied to cloud contracts. For companies, this increases dependency, management overhead, and cost risks.
