The global and independent platform for the SAP community.

E3 Category: Last and Least (Satire)

Journalistic and artistic insights into the depths of the SAP community. Bitter, sarcastic, visionary, and courageous, the E3 monthly satire column often aims below the belt and hits the sore spot time and time again.

In a remarkable interview with my colleague, Manfred Bremmer, from the German publication Computerwoche, SAP board member, Thomas Saueressig, warned against a “Frankenstein” architecture when using AI with on-prem resources.
SAP's commitment to AI is like a glaze poured over everything and everyone. The main thing is that it tastes like artificial intelligence.
The SAP community is increasingly diverging from SAP's plans. There is a wide gap between the global ERP market leader's dreams and reality.
E3 Magazine already addressed the topic of "cleaning out" ERP systems in 2016. To that end, the SAP system has been heavily modified in recent years. What now?
Innovation at SAP has shifted from IT to cooperation. An increasing number of partnerships are intended to mask the company's own lack of imagination.

It is amazing how many services and functions can be found on the Hana database platform. Unfortunately, there is no scientific study on the degree of usage.
Software licenses are the bread and butter of IT providers. In any case, licenses and maintenance fees are justified. But do the regulations have to be so complicated?
SAP's share price is soaring. Deutsche Bank analysts put it at 300 EUR. The CEO and CFO are doing a great job. But how are they managing this?
Older SAP ERP systems remain popular with customers because these installations have been maintained and modified over many years.
A Rise-with-SAP license is a multidimensional contract. SAP collects at least twice with a Rise contract without any claim to success.
From the outset, SAP has encouraged its customers to adopt new technologies and products. Despite the current immaturity of many technologies and products, the pressure to act is increasing.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the fourth time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
