When switching from an ECC contract to an SAP Rise contract, the metric for SAP users changes. Existing SAP customers face the challenge of estimating the number of Full Use Equivalent, FUE, before signing the new Rise contract.
Even if S/4 is not a tragedy like Shakespeare's Hamlet, the question for the existing SAP customer is whether he can live with the S/4 provisions in the PKL. If not, then this must be included in the contract negotiation.
With Rise with SAP, SAP creates incentives to switch to S/4 Hana in the cloud. Analogous to Digital Access, there is the option of using user licenses universally and as needed. This will appeal to many SAP customers.
The days when SAP simply accepted audit results seem to be over. The software group is increasingly questioning the figures it receives. And there is another new development: The data that is being queried is a real challenge.
Making digital access transparent and reliable was the slogan SAP used to promote indirect use licensing in 2018. A year later, SAP launched the Digital Access Adoption Program, an offering to accelerate adoption.
The prices for licensing indirect use have changed significantly over the past five years. In addition to price adjustments, the change in the licensing model has had a significant influence on this.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
