SAP poaches Microsoft Germany boss

Sabine Bendiek, currently Managing Director of Microsoft Germany, will move to SAP in Walldorf as Head of Human Resources. The post of Chief Human Resources Officer has been vacant since the surprise departure of Stefan Ries at the end of May - now SAP has gained an experienced manager who has spent almost her entire professional life working with technology.
She has also taken positions on topics such as digital transformation and modern leadership culture, both at Microsoft and in the public arena. Bendiek graduated from the University of Mannheim with a degree in business administration.
She is also a graduate of the Management Sciences program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge. Early stations in her career were McKinsey, Booz Allen Hamilton and Siemens Nixdorf, where she lived to see Heinz Nixdorf, who died in 1986.
She was then responsible for Small and Medium Business in Germany, Switzerland and Austria at Dell. In January 2016, she became the first woman to take over as CEO at Microsoft Germany. She has not yet attracted attention as a specialist in human resources, but Bendiek's leadership experience could benefit SAP.
In the past two years, the Management Board has shrunk from nine to five people. Now the board is getting bigger and more female: With Sabine Bendiek as Head of Human Resources and Adaire Fox-Martin as Head of Sales, there will once again be two women at the top management level.
