SAP and Accenture develop cloud solution for utilities
The decision to switch from SAP to Powercloud was based on a large-scale digitalization project at EnBW.
"The way we interact with our customers, whether on the web or in person, and the ability to provide them with an offer tailored to their needs at all times is the key success factor for us.
This requires consistent, customer-oriented business processes and an IT landscape that supports these processes in real time. Powercloud as a central component of our new IT landscape offers us the right basis for this"
says Florian Riedl, responsible for digitalization in sales at EnBW.
"In July 2019, we had been preparing for the migration since fall 2018. The learning from the two previous migrations of our subsidiaries paid off.
The go-live went smoothly and we were able to resume regular operations on schedule after three calendar days. We were able to rely on the functionality and scalability of the Powercloud solution"
says Olaf Kuhmann, responsible for IT in sales at EnBW.
SAP and Accenture, on the other hand, are working together to develop a new solution for the utilities industry. SAP Cloud for Utilities is designed to help companies in the sector to make their business processes and interactions with customers more efficient.
In addition, they are to be supported in mastering the future task of the energy transition and creating positive customer experiences. In times of rapid change, this is one of the basic prerequisites for companies to remain successful in the future.
"SAP Cloud for Utilities is our strategic cloud solution for supporting lead-to-cash processes. It enables utilities to seize new business opportunities and develop innovative business models, as the market environment for innovative standard and non-standard products is very dynamic"
explained SAP Industries President Peter Maier.
"It is important for the industry to create an attractive customer experience - with integrated solutions for shorter time-to-market and low service costs."
"The migration of the EnBW core brand is an important milestone for Powercloud. We can now significantly accelerate our growth once again.
Together with a strong partner network, we can now offer energy suppliers of different sizes and at different stages of their business the right solution for a smooth transition"
says Marco Beicht, CEO and founder of Powercloud.
Powercloud has been offering the platform of the same name as an open SaaS solution for the energy industry since 2012 and covers the requirements of the supplier market role in particular.
Powercloud manages over six million contractual relationships, making it by far the fastest growing CRM and billing system in the utilities industry.
