EQT intends to acquire Suse from global infrastructure software company Micro Focus for 2.535 billion US dollars. Suse was founded in 1992 and is the world's first provider of an open source Linux operating system for companies.
With sales of USD 320 million in the twelve months to October 31, 2017 and around 1,400 employees worldwide, Suse is now one of the market leaders for infrastructure and application delivery solutions for on-premise and cloud-based workloads.
Suse has expanded its product portfolio, including solutions for cloud and storage as well as container and application deployment technology.
EQT intends to support Suse's next phase of growth and innovation as an independent company. Suse's position as a leading open source player will be strengthened both organically and through acquisitions. EQT will contribute many years of experience in the software sector.
