The Smartglass is connected via WLAN to the SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). The user receives orders for the picking process in real time. These are displayed in an extended field of view.
Previously, data terminals were used for such picking processes, which the employee had to hold in their hand during the process. With pick-by-vision, on the other hand, the employee has their hands free and can therefore complete their tasks faster and more efficiently.
This enables higher picking quality. The number of picking errors is reduced by displaying the work orders.
A showroom with SAP EWM has been set up on the Salt Solutions premises for demonstration and learning purposes. All warehouse-relevant processes - including material flow control and conveyor technology - have been simulated in this showroom.
Picking processes from a shelving rack can now also be carried out here using pick-by-vision.
"Thanks to the collaboration with Salt Solutions, we were able to SAP-standard, our Business Glasses application can also be integrated into a realistic EWM environment," says Reza Etemadian, CEO and founder of iTizzimo.
"Together, we have developed a very innovative and future-oriented application in the leading warehouse management system from SAP implemented"
emphasizes Christian Erb, project manager at Salt Solutions.
