Review of the DSAG Annual Congress 2023 in Bremen

"Wonderfully changeable - Creating new perspectives together" was the motto of the 2023 Annual Congress of the German-speaking SAP User Group (DSAG) at the Bremen Trade Fair Center.

It was about digital change, especially technological change with a focus on AI, ecological and economic change, among other things. Accordingly, the question arose: How "wonderfully changeable" are the companies, SAP and the partner ecosystem? According to the DSAG Investment Report 2023, more than half of those surveyed are not yet very far along with the digital transformation.

With regard to the enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions used, it is clear that more and more companies are switching to S/4 Hana, which is probably also related to the end of standard maintenance for the Business Suite in 2027. However, around half of the companies surveyed still have the migration ahead of them. In addition, many of the conversions are currently technical migrations and real transformations as well as cloud ERP are still dreams of the future. 

"In light of the announcement at the SAP annual press conference in July this year that significant innovations will only be offered to customers with a Rise or Grow contract in future, it will be exciting to see how customers decide on their transformation projects," says Jens Hungershausen, DSAG Chairman of the Executive Board. "We will remain in contact with SAP in order to jointly develop a solution that works for all parties."
