Vizuu determines up to 20 container-specific measured values with its data loggers, which are installed in the lid of large industrial containers (IBCs). These are mapped on the SAP-based cloud platform using an intuitive user interface and permanently feed their customers' merchandise management systems as required.
The IoT solution can be used for all common ERP systems, including SAP itself. Vizuu initially equips Schaefer containers, but is manufacturer-independent and can also be integrated into existing container fleets of other brands.
With the data, fleet managers can track their goods along the logistics chain, detect empty containers or even set alarms to warn of potential events, optimizing inventory management.
"We rely on the close partnership with Europe's largest software manufacturer because we need security and permanent availability for our highly sensitive processes.
By leveraging the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP), SAP Leonardo Internet of Things (SAP Leonardo IoT) and SAP Analytics, our customers also get a maximum user-friendly front end that integrates with SAP as well as other ERP systems"
says Rainer Bröcher, Managing Director of Schäfer.
"Vizuu recognizes the increasing importance of an intelligent digital supply chain. Our partnership provides customers with solutions for permanent transparency in merchandise management, for optimal use of resources, and improved customer service"
says Hartmut Thomsen, President of the Central and Eastern Europe region at SAP.
The goal is smart IBCs in terms of process optimization and IoT. Schäfer's own requirement was to find an intelligent solution that makes merchandise management processes transparent and can be made available to the user in his own ERP system.
In the first step, hardware was developed for this purpose, which provides all the necessary information such as fill level, location, pressure and temperature, etc. The data logger is then used for the first time. After customers have converted the lids, the data logger can send the generated information to the user autonomously for two years.
