SAP Solution: SQL

What are the benefits of a One Linux platform deployment? The benefits are many and range all the way to cost savings, as a number of companies can attest.
Change dominates everyday professional life. Workflows and roadmaps have an ever shorter half-life. This makes the requirement for a sustainable architecture model increasingly relevant. SAP with Hana and IBM with Power have created sustainable platforms for this.
The SAP Hana database is unbeatable because it cannot be compared.
The countdown is on because SAP has terminated the contracts with the database providers. The S/4 transformation is the same as a new ERP implementation, one of many reasons why DSAG e. V. is promoting an alternative release concept. Who still wants S/4 Hana?
In a data warehouse, the data is stored in a relational database. This is expensive and accordingly there are products from the Big Data world that start here. Parquet, Hive, SAP Vora and Exasol are the best-known representatives in the SAP environment.
Existing SAP customers are looking for a new home for SoH and S/4. They don't want to ruin their own data center with Hana, so cloud computing would be a good alternative - also for AI, IoT and CRM. That's where the MS-SAP partnership with Azure manifests itself.
I gave a brief history of SAP and third-party BI solutions in use in my last article in E-3 Magazine (p.12, September 2016). The realization that more and more SAP users are now attracted to Microsoft front-end solutions is still valid. Basically, the entire BI train around SAP has picked up speed and it is not slowing down.
If you want to protect your SAP data from misuse, you also have to restrict access rights for SAP Basis administrators. Security tests at customers' sites reveal serious weaknesses in this area.
A migration from SAP's Business Suite to S/4 Hana requires a technological realignment of existing reporting applications. Operational reporting with Hana Live is the preferred solution for SAP's Business Suite powered by Hana, whereas S/4 relies on embedded analytics and a different technical underpinning. What does this mean for customers? What needs to be considered so that...
Microsoft and SAP have found each other - again. It's no surprise that the two IT giants have partnership feelings for each other.
If you want to get from A to B in IT, you have to be careful not to be swept away by the "digital tsunami". The challenge of digital transformation is lurking everywhere. Gaps and fractures have appeared in the organizational structure and processes. The CIO is supposed to put things right. But digital transformation processes are more about DP/Org than IT.
For many years, SAP's database dilemma only affected IBM, Oracle and Microsoft. Then SAP itself entered the database market with MaxDB, Sybase ASE/IQ and Hana and realized that the strategy was disastrous. Are Core Data Services a salvation for all?

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the fourth time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
