SAP-Solution: SolMan

Still up to date? When the CCC forum of the German-speaking user group was canceled last year, there was a great deal of uncertainty. Is there no such thing as SAP Basis anymore?
The S/4 conversion is a paradigm shift and not a technical release change. SAP talks about digital transformation and the intelligent enterprise, but conceals the fact that this requires not only Hana and S/4, but also a suitable ERP architecture.
Software must be put through its paces before it is put into operation. The quality of the tests is crucial, because those who carry out good tests find errors early on, thus reducing development costs and improving software performance.
The roadmap of SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) and SaaS solution SAP Cloud ALM poses more questions than it answers. One thing is certain: SAP Cloud ALM is not an adequate replacement for SolMan.

SAP is no longer innovative. SAP is solid and predictable. SAP is working its way up the cloud computing ladder. SAP is looking for answers to the most important customer questions. With SAP, the existing customer can tackle the release upgrade to Hana and S/4 - and then?
SolMan is getting its time in the spotlight: SAP has positioned it as the central integration engine of the Business Transformation Suite (BTS). But what exactly is BTS all about?
System copies are a regular task in the SAP data center and there are numerous tools for this. But here the question arises: Can a complete SAP system be copied and then reused on a new domain for new tasks?
The SAP community not only wants an answer to the question of whether Hana and S/4 are still up to date, but also a consolidation of S/4 conversion tools. There are many good approaches, but it remains laborious and in part also not very efficient.
The SolMan is dead, long live the SolMan! Many years ago, the SAP Solution Manager was born in the boardroom of Gerd Oswald. The idea was stringent and successful at the same time. Back then, the SAP world consisted of consolidating, harmonizing and orchestrating - and it was on-prem.
Once SAP SolMan is in use, "Make a wish" begins - but possibly even before that. From a consultant's perspective, you then hear questions like, "Can Solution Manager...?" How do we deal with that?
Like a cockpit, SAP Focused Build offers all planning and control tools specifically for large, agile projects. From takeoff to safe landing, they flank all processes. But what does an SAP project have to do with a flight?

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
