SAP Solution: PBS

During a migration to S/4, availability or access to old but important data must be ensured for various reasons. PBS Software has developed the Nearline Analytical Archive solution especially for medium-sized and small SAP customers.
It is always a strategic decision: Which systems will be migrated to S/4 Hana and how long must SAP data be retained?
As a provider of SAP enhancement solutions, PBS offers outstanding solutions with its portfolio that increase the performance of SAP systems by significantly reducing the load on the primary database and making even the largest data volumes available for complex analyses in seconds.
To complement an existing ERP system for smart analytics, PBS offers a complete package called Operational Analytics for ERP. It is based on the Nearline Analytic Infrastructure. In this E-3 interview, Dagmar Fischer, Product Manager Operational Analytics for ERP at PBS Software.
Legacy SAP system shutdowns are becoming more and more important as a result of the transition from the Business Suite to S/4. Data must be extracted from a legacy system but it is important that this data can be used as required. Specifically developed standard solutions offer numerous advantages.
Do you still access database and archive data after data archiving with your usual transactions, reports or queries in an integrated way?
New features in existing solutions were the focus of this year's PBS Software Information Day. So was a new development called PBS Operational Analytics for ERP (OA4ERP). The solution offering of the long-standing SAP partner is already in the starting blocks for S/4 and BW/4 Hana use.
The switch from SAP ERP Classic to Hana-based applications such as S/4 usually entails new developments for providers of SAP add-on or supplementary solutions. PBS Software is very much through with this, as shareholders Günther Reichling and Prof. Detlev Steinbinder explain in the following E3 exclusive interview.
Until now, the effort required to update archived BW data was very high, because so-called stragglers could not be posted directly to nearline storage. This kept many BW users from archiving data.
The analysis of large amounts of data is becoming increasingly important due to trends such as Big Data, Industry 4.0, but also in traditional applications.

Working on the SAP basis is crucial for successful S/4 conversion.

This gives the Competence Center strategic importance for existing SAP customers. Regardless of the S/4 Hana operating model, topics such as Automation, Monitoring, Security, Application Lifecycle Management and Data Management the basis for S/4 operations.

For the second time, E3 magazine is organizing a summit for the SAP community in Salzburg to provide comprehensive information on all aspects of S/4 Hana groundwork.
