SAP appoints president for midmarket solutions
SAP has appointed Barry Padgett as the new president of SAP's small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) solutions portfolio.
Padgett, Concur's chief product officer since 2014, has been associated with Concur since 1997 and will assume responsibility for SAP solutions SAP Business One, SAP Anywhere and SAP Business ByDesign on July 1, 2016.
SAP has now merged the Business One, SAP Anywhere and Business ByDesign solutions into one organizational unit. The aim is to be able to respond even more effectively to customers' needs and offer leading front- and back-office applications that are tailored precisely to the requirements of SMEs.

During his time at Concur, Padgett held several positions including Executive Vice President & General Manager for the Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) region, Vice President International Sales and Marketing, Director Asia Pacific Region, Director of Consulting Services, and Director of Business Development.
He helped significantly innovate web-based expense reporting, successfully introduced the end-to-end connection of online travel booking and expense reporting to the market, and led TripIt's operations after the company was acquired by Concur. As Chief Product Officer, Padgett was most recently responsible for the strategy and delivery of Concur's products.
José Velázquez becomes new COO of SAP Switzerland
José Velázquez has been the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SAP Switzerland since June 15, 2016.
He reports to Angela Mazza, who as COO Middle & Eastern Europe (MEE) is responsible for the COO business unit in Switzerland.
Velázquez thus joins the Executive Board of SAP Switzerland and takes over from Andreas Stuker, who has spent the past 17 years successfully building up and managing the COO division with great commitment.
Stuker is moving to the GSSP organization (Global Strategic Services Partners) at his own request and will look after the strategic service partners in Switzerland. He will also continue to be responsible for and maintain relations with important Swiss associations and political institutions.
Velázquez's career is characterized by many years of management experience in various business areas. In 1992, he began his career as a sales representative at SAP Spain. This was followed by various management positions as Managing Director SAP Iberia, General Director for Southern Europe, Head of Strategic Partners EMEA and DACH, and Head of Line of Business and Mobile Solutions EMEA.
Velázquez holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and German Philology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. In addition, he has completed postgraduate courses in European Law from the University of Saarbrücken, Germany, and European Business Management from the University of Barcelona, Spain.

Cormeta says goodbye to Jakob Schauer
After more than 20 years, Jakob Schauer is retiring. His successor Mikail Yazici has been on board since January and officially took over as head of SAP Services and Information Technology on April 1.
In addition to classic SAP Basis support, he and his team also handle conversions to S/4 and support for SAP cloud and mobile solutions.
Schauer started at the parent company Command in the early 1990s. After Command became one of the first SAP system houses, Schauer established and further developed the SAP technology department in 1995.
He also designed the support for SAP customers. This Partner Center of Expertise (PCoE) is certified by SAP every two years, most recently successfully in April 2016.
Goetzfried appoints two board members for key areas
Three months after founder Thomas Götzfried rejoined the board of directors, German IT and HR services provider Goetzfried has strengthened its management with two long-time industry experts.
The former Ciber board member Jörg Dietmann, is now responsible for IT projects and services as a member of the board.
In addition, Markus Ley, previously Managing Director at Hays, will become the Board Member responsible for the Temporary Staffing and Recruitment division.
Prior to that, the company's top management was reorganized around Thomas Götzfried and Andreas Nader as of January I.
Think tank brings in DSAG board member Otto Schell
The Diplomatic Council has appointed Otto Schell as Chairman International Relations. The top manager takes over responsibility for the international relations of the global think tank upon joining the DC executive committee.
The think tank, which advises the United Nations among others, uniquely links a global economic network with social aspirations to the political-diplomatic level in order to advance issues important to humanity.
Schell remains an honorary member of the DSAG Executive Board for the Industry/Business Processes department and Global SAP Business Architect and Head of Customer Center of Expertise (CCoE) at General Motors, headquartered in Detroit (USA).
Retarus recruits new General Counsel from Vodafone
Florian Frick is the new General Counsel of the Retarus Group. In this role, the lawyer now advises senior management on all strategic issues relating to international legal and regulatory provisions as well as compliance requirements.
Florian Frick reports directly to Johannes Hecker, COO of the Retarus Group. Before joining Retarus, Frick headed the Legal Technology & Corporate Services department at Vodafone Kabel Deutschland.
Until 2011, he was the central legal contact for Atos. Among other things, he played a key role in the legal and planning aspects of the global carve-out of SIS from Siemens and the subsequent integration of the subgroup into Atos.
Georg Vogel is the new Channel Director DACH at Malwarebytes, the provider of disinfection and protection solutions for combating Internet threats, and will be responsible for the channel and business with customers in the SME and enterprise sector with immediate effect.
Jan Mrosik will be the new CEO of Siemens' Digital Factory Division. Jan Mrosik, who holds a doctorate in electrical and industrial engineering, has held various positions at Siemens for 20 years. Most recently, he led the Energy Management Division together with Ralf Christian.
IT-Logix, an IT consultancy specializing in business intelligence (BI), data warehousing (DWH) and big data, has recruited Dominik Imark, a BI specialist for retail and supply chain management. In addition to certifications, including for SAP Business Objects, he has an MBA specializing in business intelligence.
Philip Lacor will be Dropbox's new vice president of EMEA sales. Lacor will be responsible for pan-European sales and will work closely with regional customers and teams. Prior to Dropbox, Lacor led the telecommunications provider's entire enterprise business at Vodafone Germany.
CA Technologies has appointed Sven Mulder as its new managing director and vice president of Central Europe, Southern East (SEE) and Russia. Previously, Mulder was responsible for the business in Germany and oversaw the enterprise business in the German-speaking region.
The Swiss consulting and software company Elca has appointed Prof. Thomas A. Gutzwiller as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is academic director of the Henri B. Meier Entrepreneurship School at the University of St. Gallen and a permanent faculty member at ETH Zurich.
