Software Trends 2022

This is the result of a recent survey of 100 IT specialists by software manufacturer Beech IT. According to the survey, 96 percent of the experts expect increasingly complicated computer programs; 98 percent warn that software must be more strongly protected against cyber attacks. Other trends cited for 2022 and beyond include: Agile software development (68 percent), AI-assisted development (67 percent), extremely high scalability (66 percent), rapid prototyping and innovation (65 percent). Performant code (59 percent) plays an equally important role as Platform-as-a-Service (57 percent) and Software-as-a-Service offerings (52 percent). Dual speed development (52 percent) narrowly trumps enterprise integration of content management systems (47 percent), and lean software development (42 percent) is more important to most than Typo3 standardization (41 percent).
