Hyperscalers in the fast lane
According to a new ISG study, hybrid cloud solutions are becoming the preferred delivery model for cloud computing in Germany. The driving factor is the increased integration of innovative public cloud services. This includes AI services, for example, in order to achieve an optimal balance between costs, productivity and capacity of IT assets.
In the course of this development, the differences between managed hosting and managed services providers are rapidly diminishing. At the same time, the importance of colocation providers is growing as they gradually expand their core business. The aim is to cover the entire cloud computing value chain. In particular, flexible access to public cloud hyperscalers is becoming increasingly important. The importance of colocation providers who provide high-performance connections to the public cloud world is growing accordingly.
Against this backdrop, ISG also sees market opportunities for IT service providers who create competitive advantages for their customers with industry-specific best practices. The aim is to establish a continuous innovation process that allows customers to take the lead in their markets and stay there.
It is therefore becoming more important for service providers to understand the customer's business processes and applications in depth. This also includes know-how about how the customer's customers behave and how their ecosystems are changing.
