Controlled stress
Five bachelor students at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) have developed a new type of app that can use long-term ECG data to create an individual risk analysis in the event of suspected fatigue, depression or burnout.
The ECG recording devices transmit the heartbeat intervals via a Bluetooth connection, on the basis of which the app calculates the personal stress level in just a few minutes.
The app makes it possible to create an initial risk assessment for illnesses such as burnout, depression or fatigue. For this purpose, a 24-hour long-term ECG is recorded using a mobile ECG recorder from Getdemed.
The app downloads the calculated heartbeat intervals from the recorder via Bluetooth and creates an individual stress level analysis in a matter of seconds.
"Thanks to the application we have developed, it is now possible to have an initial risk assessment carried out without having to undergo extensive medical examinations"
explained Karl Wolf, HPI bachelor project group.
