Making city centers more attractive
Together with the German Retail Association (HDE), the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW) has published a statement on how city centers can be made more attractive as places for people to meet and as an important economic factor. This requires a package of measures consisting of tax relief for investments, targeted subsidies and a corresponding digital infrastructure, as well as a dialog with politicians.
Both BVDW and HDE are convinced that technological development at the point of sale and the active use of digital means can help revitalize German city centers and overcome the consequences of the pandemic standstill. BVDW and HDE believe that meaningful penetration of technological innovations relieves the burden on retailers, offers customers a shopping experience, and makes the city center more attractive as a location.
