Coordination between cybersecurity and business
Trend Micro reveals in a new study that European business and IT leaders see cybersecurity more as a business issue than their American counterparts - although there is still plenty of room for better alignment. The study found that 73 percent of European respondents consider cybersecurity to be a business issue today, compared to only 58 percent in North America.
In addition, 80 percent of European companies stated that most (47 percent) or some (32 percent) of their board members have knowledge in the area of cyber security. The overall situation is improving: 82 percent of respondents stated that the board of directors is more involved in the topic of security than two years ago.
In addition, European companies are ahead of their North American counterparts in governance, risk and compliance (29 percent vs. 15 percent) and third-party risk management (22 percent vs. 13 percent).
