ERP system of the year
On October 5, the "ERP System of the Year" awards will be presented for the tenth time at the "IT & Business 2016" trade fair for digital processes and solutions in Stuttgart. This time, the Center for Enterprise Research (CER) at the University of Potsdam has announced the competition for the best solutions for enterprise resource planning (ERP) in the categories supplier industry, one-off production, professional services, retail, food/foodstuffs, public sector, "Microsoft system house of the year" and "SAP system house of the year". "The 'ERP System of the Year' competition highlights the diversity of the ERP system landscape in Germany and enables users to identify suitable providers," explains business IT specialist Prof. Dr. Norbert Gronau, initiator of the contest. The background to this is that it is not easy to gain an overview of the range of solutions on offer, as there are many other factors in addition to the range of functions that are important for a successful introduction. These include, for example, specific customer benefits, the scope of technology and integration and ergonomics. The aim of the competition is to view and evaluate these non-functional criteria neutrally in order to create better transparency for users.
