EDI consolidation at Autoliv
The Swedish-American automotive supplier Autoliv is consolidating its EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems at 32 locations in Europe onto a central platform - the Business Integration Suite.
"The different IT systems at the Autoliv locations made cross-location modifications difficult and made conversions expensive, time-consuming or even impossible. The many license models also offered opportunities for savings"
says Olaf Schwartz, Manager IT Business Competence Center, Autoliv.
The new B2B/EDI solution (BIS6) maps standardized formats such as OFTP2 and enables individual adaptations on the customer side. The consolidation measures have halved the overall EDI costs.
Further advantages: no local systems, more transparency, central support and independence from the system provider thanks to enablement measures. In addition, the finance and logistics data will be migrated step by step without interrupting deliveries.
