Together with ESL, SAP had already driven and developed the analysis of game data for the live broadcasts for the e-sports tournament "ESL One Hamburg 2018" in October.
Through various data analyses, the viewers and commentators were given innovative clues to better understand the complexity of the game Dota 2 and the decisions of the pro gamers.
Dota 2 is a multiplayer online battle arena, a form of real-time strategy game. The cooperation focuses on the hero selection of Dota 2.
By analyzing match data from past professional matches, assessments and statistics can be displayed directly in the live broadcast. This gives viewers and commentators a direct insight and allows them to better understand certain selection criteria.
With the help of Hana, large volumes of game data are processed and made available in customized analytics via the SAP Cloud Platform.
"Together with SAP, we are able to further improve the viewer experience and the live broadcast"
says Bernhard Mogk, SVP Global Sales & Business Development at ESL.
"Following our successful entry into e-sports at the beginning of the year, the event partnership with ESL is an important and logical step for us"
says Lars Lamadé, responsible for sponsorships in Europe and Asia at SAP.
