Cloud Disruption in Germany
The use of cloud computing is advancing in leaps and bounds in companies of all sizes and in all industries in Germany.
This is not only true for large companies. Medium-sized companies are also increasingly putting aside their reservations. IDC expects a rapid expansion of widely visible cloud initiatives.
60 percent of the companies surveyed are currently still in an early phase. They are engaged in pilot projects, are pushing ahead with individual initiatives in individual departments or have not yet defined a cloud strategy.
This situation will change significantly in the next 24 months. Then just under two-thirds of companies will use cloud computing extensively in their businesses, ultimately moving ever more strongly towards a cloud-first strategy.
The use of cloud computing is thus a fundamental response to digitization, which 52 percent of companies see as a key challenge.
