SAP Sailors
SAP and the Hamburg-based concept shipyard are extending their collaboration for a further five years with the aim of making sailing more accessible through SAP technologies.
Konzeptwerft is providing a team of ten experts for the sponsoring partnership with SAP under the SailTracks brand.
The common goals are to establish the further development of SAP technologies in sailing and SAP solutions in the international sailing world, to provide regatta sailors and coaches with tools and to make sailing more attractive to a wider audience thanks to modern transmission technologies.
The SAP Sailing Analytics software was developed as part of the cooperation. This proved that SAP solutions can professionalize an entire sport and at the same time make it more accessible to fans.
Autonomous driving
The road to the new mobile world is not entirely straightforward.
As Deloitte's Global Automotive Consumer Study shows, the principle of self-driving cars in particular is meeting with growing skepticism among Germans and demand has even fallen slightly compared to 2014.
The majority (72%) still have security concerns, but 47% have been convinced by positive experience and evidence. However, only just over a quarter in Germany would bear higher costs for security-relevant new technologies.
A "generation gap" is evident in all countries: the younger the respondents, the greater the chance of success for new mobility concepts. Of German millennials, 32% are interested in self-driving cars; in China, the figure is as high as 64%.
"On the one hand, Germans are seen as believers in technology, but on the other hand they are also rather aloof when it comes to visions of the future. The self-driving car is failing among German consumers primarily due to safety concerns.
Here, manufacturers should provide tests and evidence that also strengthen broader trust in the technology and traditional brands in this country," explains Thomas Schiller, Head/Partner Automotive at Deloitte.
