Safety concerns prevail
72 percent of Germans feel that safety in autonomous mode is not yet adequate (South Korea: 81 percent, China: 62 percent).
In Germany, however, the majority of consumers (51 percent) generally trust established vehicle manufacturers when it comes to new technologies - unlike the Chinese and Indians, who rely on new suppliers.
In contrast to the US (+3 percent) and Chinese (+4.2 percent), German consumers are less interested in self-driving cars today than they were three years ago (-2.8 percent).
"The next Digital Agenda must draw up a program for the whole of Germany and weave together the digital patchwork"
says Thomas Schiller.
