E-commerce becomes m-commerce
The increasing use of smartphones and tablets is having a lasting impact on the online retail sector.
Over the last two years, the proportion of smartphone shoppers (from 20 to 39 percent) and tablet shoppers (from 14 to 27 percent) has almost doubled.
In contrast, purchases via laptop (from 66 to 64 percent) or desktop PC (from 58 to 50 percent) are on the decline.
This was the result of a representative survey conducted by Bitkom Research among 1,158 Internet users aged 14 and over.
Online shopping is becoming mobile shopping. The smartphone in particular has become an everyday companion. This means that shopping is not only possible at any time, but also almost anywhere in the world.
