SAP appoints Andreas J. Wagner as new Head of Austria
The 54-year-old has held management positions at SAP for 18 years and has played a key role in shaping the company's digitalization offerings, particularly in the area of supply chains. Most recently, he was global Chief Business Officer for digitalized supply chains. Born in Styria, he is returning to his home country from the SAP headquarters in Walldorf, Germany.
In his new role, Wagner wants to drive innovation and sustainability together with customers and partners: "We want to support companies of all sizes in overcoming their challenges, taking advantage of opportunities and strengthening Austria as a business location in the long term. At a time of economic challenges, digital transformation is crucial for the success of Austrian companies. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud solutions and data analytics create resilience, increase productivity and are the key to keeping up with international competition."
After completing a Master's degree in Commercial Sciences at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and several years at Johnson & Johnson as a controller and product manager, Wagner took over the commercial management of DHL in Austria and later moved to Brussels as Head of Change Management in DHL Customer Service for Europe. He joined SAP in 2007 - after several management roles in sales, he became Senior Vice President for Digital Supply Chains in Central and Eastern Europe in 2019 and was ultimately responsible for this area for all end markets as Global Chief Business Officer.
