S/4 migration in record time

CBS has realized the migration to a completely new digital future platform based on SAP S/4 Hana for the Viessmann Group, a manufacturer of energy systems. During the big bang go-live, 28 production units in 34 countries as well as 78 sales organizations worldwide were migrated to S/4.
The challenging Greenfield project is the largest S/4 Hana transformation in the manufacturing industry worldwide to date. In the process, Viessmann has also implemented innovations such as Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and MRP live (Material Resource Planning).
"All processes in S/4 run smoothly. We have never experienced such a smooth go-live. Production, shipping, warehousing - all areas continued to run at full capacity without interruption. Now we have digital business processes integrated across the company. Our platform for the future 2025 is in place.
explains Harald Dörnbach, Managing Director at Viessmann IT Service.
The project partners see the project as a groundbreaking success.
"The Viessmann project is the beacon for S/4 transformations in the SAP market. In terms of speed, benefits and costs, it sets new standards. Future S/4 migrations will be guided by it."
explains Rainer Wittwen, Member of the Executive Board at CBS.
With its "s.m.a.r.t migration" approach, CBS defined a customized path that brought Viessmann to S/4. The focus of the business re-engineering was on the value-adding processes.
The consultants were selective and focused on those structures, processes, standards and data whose optimization offered added value for Viessmann.
As a result, the full-service provider of energy systems now benefits from innovations such as new digital planning processes and drastically accelerated material requirements planning - the time required has also been reduced.
