Software automation is not limited to one-dimensional processes. It is true that processes that follow clearly defined rules are easiest to automate with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and can usually be automated end-to-end. The standard tasks addressed can also be significantly more complex and, in exceptional cases, even involve deviating courses of action.
Certainly, the implementation effort is lower in the case of a standardized, narrowly defined process, but this also generally applies to the expected results. However, the potential of software bots becomes even more apparent, especially in the case of complex requirements. Therefore, RPA is not merely an extension of classic macros, but a solution that acts autonomously but can be embedded in an overall context.
