This new support offering is specifically designed to provide dedicated, EU citizen-supported technical support within the EU for Red Hat software subscriptions. The aim is to enable a new level of verifiable local control over critical IT operations.

For more and more European leaders, digital sovereignty is the way to differentiate themselves in the global market, protect their companies from geopolitical dynamics and secure data, technologies and processes in the EU. At the same time, they want to increase the resilience of their cloud infrastructure and achieve innovation goals in the field of AI through improved supply chain transparency, legal certainty, compliance and autonomy.

Red Hat Confirmed Sovereign Support is designed to meet the growing demand in Europe for operational sovereignty. The offering builds on Red Hat's more than ten years of experience in providing support models for specific regions and industries, particularly for companies operating in highly regulated markets or subject to strict compliance requirements.

Key features

Red Hat Confirmed Sovereign Support, available in the beginning of 2026, offers many key features. For example, dedicated EU citizens as employees, with access to support expertise from verified EU citizens who work exclusively in the 27 EU member states. The offering also provides local operational control with EU-based technical support overseeing the delivery of support services.

In addition, there is 24/7 availability in the region, with round-the-clock technical support within the EU region that meets sovereignty and service continuity requirements. An extensive local ecosystem is also included. Red Hat's approach is further enhanced by its ecosystem of more than 500 EU cloud partners. This network helps to strategically reduce dependence on hyperscalers outside the EU and offers companies local alternatives that are directly aligned with regional regulatory guidelines and economic priorities.
