Red Hat introduces Confirmed Sovereign Support for the European Union

This new support offering has been specifically designed to provide dedicated, EU citizen-based technical support within the EU for Red Hat software subscriptions. The aim is to provide a new level of verifiable local control over critical IT operations.
For more and more European leaders, digital sovereignty is the way to differentiate themselves in the global market, protect their companies from geopolitical dynamics and secure data, technologies and processes in the EU. At the same time, they want to increase the resilience of their cloud infrastructure and achieve innovation goals in the field of AI through improved supply chain transparency, legal certainty, compliance and autonomy.
Red Hat Confirmed Sovereign Support, available from early 2026, is designed to meet the growing demand in Europe for operational sovereignty. The offering builds on Red Hat's more than ten years of experience in providing support models for specific regions and industries, particularly for organizations operating in highly regulated markets or with stringent compliance requirements.
Central functions
Red Hat Confirmed Sovereign Support offers many key features. For example, dedicated EU citizen staff, with access to support expertise from verified EU citizens working exclusively in the 27 EU member states. The offering also provides local operational control with EU-based technical support overseeing the delivery of support services.
In addition, there is 24/7 availability in the region, with 24/7 technical support within the EU region that meets the requirements for sovereignty and service continuity. Red Hat's approach is reinforced by its ecosystem of more than 500 EU cloud partners. This network helps to strategically reduce reliance on hyperscalers outside the EU and provides organizations with local alternatives that are directly aligned with regional regulatory policies and economic priorities.

„Digital sovereignty means being in control of your own technological future, from where data is stored to software and operations. Navigating the EU's strict regulatory and compliance framework requires an open source-based, transparent and auditable foundation, as well as a local model for operational support.“
