SAP loses SCP President Björn Goerke

Since the end of February this year, the SAP CTO and President SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) is no longer with SAP, if the information on his Twitter account is correct. Although Björn Goerke was naturally the most important man on board for the "Cloud First" strategy of SAP CEO Bill McDermott, there is no news from Walldorf about the departure of the SCP President.
E-3 Magazine spoke with scene experts, who all uniformly confirmed:
"SAP is trying to keep the ball as low as possible."
With the surprising and disruptive departure of SAP board member Bernd Leukert, Goerke's departure not only represents another significant loss of expertise in a matter of days, but also calls McDermott's "people management" into question.
Björn Goerke was the unofficial deputy of former Chief Technology Officer Bernd Leukert for many years. The SAP TechEd keynotes were given either by Leukert or, time and again, very spectacularly by Goerke.
Goerke was known as a fan of space and astronauts. His performance "The Martian - Save Mark Watney" is unforgettable. First on the TechEd stage and later at the DSAG Technology Days in Hamburg, he acted out the story of Mark Watney stranded on Mars - naturally based on and with the help of SAP technology, including Abap.
No one at SAP was able to relate abstract technology to real stories in a similarly vivid and logical way. Björn Goerke was thus also a leading figure and innovator among the SAP mentors.
Citrix realigns EMEA leadership team

Eric Kline becomes Chief Operating Officer (COO) EMEA. In his new role as COO EMEA, Eric Kline is responsible for digital sales, renewals, marketing and go-to-market strategies. He joined Citrix in February 2000 and has held a number of management positions in the US.
Lee Hughes assumes responsibility for the newly centralized Networking business in the EMEA region as Vice President Networking EMEA, effective immediately. He joined Citrix in 2018 as Managing Director for EMEA Professional Services.
Daren Finney replaces Eric Kline as Vice President Partner Sales EMEA and will be responsible for strengthening the relationship between Citrix and its partners to ensure the long-term success of both parties. Finney joined Citrix in 2017 as Senior Director Distribution.
Kirill Tatarinov joins the Acronis Board of Directors

Kirill Tatarinov, a business leader and technology expert with more than 30 years of experience in the enterprise software industry, joins Acronis' Board of Directors.
Tatarinov brings a wealth of experience in implementing effective product development strategies and deep knowledge of enterprise IT. Both will help Acronis tap into the enterprise and public sectors even faster. Tatarinov was most recently president and CEO of Citrix Systems.
Under his leadership, Citrix has introduced a new vision and strategy that has perceptibly evolved the company's culture by focusing on innovation and the move to the cloud. Prior to that, Kirill Tatarinov worked at Microsoft.
"Acronis is an innovative technology company in my eyes and I am very excited to join the Board of Directors"
Tatarinov himself says about the appointment.
"I believe Acronis is well positioned with its vision and product roadmap to help and energetically support customers of all sizes in protecting their digital assets."
Tim Hoffmeister becomes CEO of the Implico Group

With immediate effect, Tim Hoffmeister takes over the newly created position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Implico Group. In addition to managing the Finance and Controlling division, he also takes over the Administration and Human Resources divisions.
The business graduate started as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Implico Group, a software and consulting company specializing in the oil and gas industry, in September 2018. Since then, he has been driving the realignment together with his management colleagues Stephan Buhre, Thomas Ernst and Torsten Peter and has repositioned the innovation division.
"With a very successful fiscal year 2018 and innovations in the pipeline, Implico is looking positively to the future. With these steps, we will lead the way for the further digitalization of the oil and gas industry.
My ambition is to become a thought leader for the industry and to play a key role in shaping the digital future together with Implico's powerful team."
says Tim Hoffmeister.
"I'm looking forward to this challenge and excited to see what 2019 has in store for Implico."
Claus Wisser receives lifetime achievement award

This year, Wisser receives the Lünendonk Business-to-Business Service Award (B2B) in the Lifetime Achievement category. A jury of 15 media representatives voted by majority for the founder of the nationwide facility, industrial and airport service company Wisag.
Claus Wisser is a classic self-made man. To finance his studies, he offered cleaning services. Since 1965, the resulting Wisag has grown into one of the largest service companies in Germany.
The service provider now employs around 50,000 people, who work in facility services and industrial services as well as in ground handling at airports. Jörg Hossenfelder pays tribute to Wisser's life's work in his laudation:
"Claus Wisser is one of the defining figures of the German facility services market. He has also long been committed to the community and, among other things, founded the Rheingau Music Festival together with his friend Michael Herrmann."
Together with his son Michael, he also founded the Wisag children's charity KiWIS. The awards were sponsored by Lünendonk & Hossenfelder.
Hans Nipshagen has been appointed head of EMEA channels and alliances at Akamai. Effective immediately, Nipshagen will be responsible for Akamai's sales strategy in the EMEA region. In his new position, he will continue to expand Akamai's sales channels.
Franck Audrain has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AEG Power Solutions. Franck Audrain is an experienced leader and will succeed Jeff Casper, who is leaving the company after nine and a half years, having led it through a restructuring.
Arnold Altmann has succeeded Oliver Back as Managing Director of Zalaris. Arnold Altmann had already held executive positions at Zalaris Germany for many years and brings with him many years of industry experience. Thus, he was the logical choice for the position.
Christian Schmickler will assume more responsibility as Cluster Manager in the Cyber Security Cluster Bonn in the future. In his new position, he will drive operational expansion and represent the interests of the cluster and its members in public.
Carsten Grunert, previously Managing Director of Cancom ICT Service, has joined Axians as Business Unit (BU) Manager Bavaria with responsibility for business in the Free State of Bavaria. With this new appointment, Axians continues to focus on close customer relationships in Germany.
Achim Zimmermann was EVP Operations and Director SAP of Q-Partners at the E-3 Cover last December. He is currently Head of Business Unit and Director SAP at Devoteam. The French company has acquired Q-Partners.
