Another two years as Bitkom President
Achim Berg has been re-elected as President of the digital association Bitkom. Berg was unanimously confirmed for a third term of office by the main board in Berlin. Over the next two years, he will therefore speak for the more than 2100 member companies of Bitkom with their more than two million employees in Germany. Sabine Bendiek, member of the Executive Board of SAP, was elected as the new Vice President.
"In their exploratory paper, the SPD, Greens and FDP have given digitalization an unprecedented and outstanding priority. We have the opportunity to turn the 2020s into a genuine digital decade for Germany. It is particularly important to me that we come closer to two central goals: the digital sovereignty of Germany and Europe and the digital participation of all citizens"said Berg about the goals he will pursue in his third term of office.
"Digitalization is not a problem that needs to be solved. It is the key to mastering the major challenges of our time - from achieving climate targets and effectively combating coronavirus to maintaining an internationally competitive, innovative economy."
