Customer proximity and innovation were the focus of this year's second SAP Capital Markets Day. Marco Lenck, Chairman of the Board of the German-speaking SAP User Group, commented on SAP's Capital Markets Day as follows:
"On behalf of DSAG, we are delighted with the new impetus that Co-CEOs Jennifer Morgan and Christian Klein are providing for SAP in the interests of SAP customers. SAP is well positioned with this management duo. We are aware that challenging tasks await the dual leadership in the coming years.
We therefore welcome the fact that SAP is aligning its strategies and solutions with customers' digitalization projects. SAP's capital is successful and satisfied customers who adequately map their business processes and models with SAP solutions. SAP's best-of-suite approach will enable it to secure competitive advantages and maintain a strong market position in the long term."
The new cloud partnership with Microsoft as part of the Embrace program, which former CEO Bill McDermott announced at the beginning of 2019, was also a topic of discussion. Co-CEO Jennifer Morgan affirmed that this agreement was entirely in the interests of customers and SAP partners. Marco Lenck comments on this;
"We generally see sales partnerships to simplify the introduction of S/4 Hana with holistic packages as positive. Making the changeover easier for users is an important requirement resulting from a conversion rate that is still too low.
As DSAG, we demand platform-independent solutions in the SAP environment and are rather critical of a concentration on individual providers. We use our influence as a user association to advocate for this on behalf of our members."
