Hitachi has announced the formation of the Hitachi Insight Group. Based in Santa Clara, the new group will unify Hitachi's activities around the Internet of Things (IoT) and implement a global go-to-market strategy.
Hitachi generated $5.4 billion in revenue from IoT solutions and services in 2015 and currently has one of the industry's most comprehensive portfolios for industrial IoT with 33 solutions.
By combining the business activities of digital and IoT solutions and services, Hitachi aims to become a leading provider in this fast-growing market.
The Hitachi Insight Group is made up of a global team of more than 16,000 employees working in various areas of Hitachi Ltd. and Hitachi Group companies (for example, Hitachi Data Systems and Hitachi Consulting).
